At Nestlé, we take great care in formulating all our NAN products. Our team of nutrition scientists and experts work hard to make sure our products are of the highest quality, even going above and beyond what's required by regulations.
Operating in 16 state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities around the world, we're proud to say that our processes meet the most stringent global standards.
We are committed to making 100% of our packaging recyclable or reusable. We include the Australasian Recycling Label (ARL) on all our retail products including NAN Toddler tins. The ARL shows that the tin, lid, scoop and the foil seal (when made in a ball) of our tins are all recyclable, as well as the box of our sachet packs. The foil of our sachets and the tamper evidence tab on the lid of our tins are the only packaging pieces that should go in the bin. We’ll keep working on finding a recycling solution for these packaging pieces.
Yes, at Nestlé we aim to use renewable resources, without compromising on safety or quality. 66% of the plastic in NAN lids, and 95% of the plastic in our NAN scoops comes from a renewable resource – sugar cane. Our factories are ISO 14001 certified, an internationally recognised guarantee of their environmental management standards. A third of Nestlé factories are already using renewable electricity and we are continuously advancing towards our 100% renewable electricity goal. Globally, Nestlé is also focusing on supporting farmers and suppliers to advance regenerative agriculture, as well as planting hundreds of millions of trees within the next 10 years.
